Beaches

Tyddyn Difyr is a few hundred metres away from Porth Neigwl beach (Hell’s Mouth). Porth Neigwl is a four mile long beach stretching from Cilan to the edge of Rhiw. It’s a very popular beach for surfing (water sport equipment e.g. paddle boards and surf boards can be hired from Abersoch). Llŷn is famous for its beautiful beaches. Porth Ceiriad, Porthor (Whistling Sands), Llanbedrog and Tudweiliog beaches to name but a few, are worth exploring.

Walking

The Llŷn Coastal Path can be accessed from the doorstep of Tyddyn Difyr. Llŷn Coastal Path is part of the Wales Coastal Path and is approximately 90 miles long running from Porthmadog to Caernarfon. Not far is the Snowdonia National Park, home to Wales’s highest mountain, Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon).

Food and Shops

Less than half a mile from Tyddyn Difyr is the village of Llanengan and the Sun Inn, which serves delicious home cooked food. Two miles away is the popular seaside village, Abersoch, which has a variety of shops, cafes and bars. Less than ten miles away is the town of Pwllheli, popular for its sailing and marina.

Local attractions

Several attractions are close by including the Italian village of Portmeirion and for the thrill-seekers, Zip World. The historic Caernarfon and Cricieth castles are a highlight for many. There are several popular steam railway services nearby, for example the Welsh Highland Railway which runs from Caernarfon to Porthmadog.
